The game’s afoot!

Ah yes, so I’ve finally downloaded and watched Sherlock Holmes, the mcdonalds in front of college is awesome, I was downloading this at 200kb/s! In half an hour I finished downloading this and the spend the 2 hours watching it, and god damn it was awesome! I must say that 2009 was a year of awesome movies like avatar, transformers: revenge of the fallen, UP, and 2012. Sherlock Holmes really was a christmas present for us all. I never watched it on christmas day itself as it was the day of the premier so finally! anyways, let’s cut the chatter shall we? The movie’s star is of course Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes, who also acted in Iron Man, Jude Law- artificial intelligence as Dr Watson and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler. Overall I would say the movie was fun, intense at the right moves and also comical at some parts, though I would say they altered the characters quite a lot, as far as me being a guy who grew up with novels, Sherlock Holmes being one of them, he was supposed to be a more serious character with utter brilliance and discipline, not to mention him as being a tall figure and a guy who doesn’t really fight, before the movie was released I actually thought Jude Law would be playing Holmes. As far as Holmes fighting in the movie, especially the scene where he was fighting in a bar, that was a bit strange for me although it was fun to watch non the less. Anyways, still, a good watch it definitely was.

P.S: I forgot to mention, Rachel McAdams is HOT! ;)

Silverlight facebook App

So today I tried a new app from microsoft silverlight, yes microsoft haha, I know to many people I’m a mac freak but yea so I just decided to download silverlight onto my mac and tried some apps, what really amazed me was silverlight’s facebook app, it is BY FAR! the best facebook app/client I have ever came across in my entire tech life, though it feels a bit slow at times, the app itself is quite beautifully designed, and organized, I’m a freak for organized layouts and apps so this app came smiling at me with open arms waiting for me to grab it. The interface is simple and neat and there are tabs in the side bar showing status updates, news feeds, pages, photos, links and videos that are posted by your facebook mates and also a “what’s on your mind” button to update your status, there’s also a nice feature called photo feed where you can view all the newest photos your friends uploaded onto their account, another neat thing is the top bar, it shows people, photos, events, and also your inbox, overall, this is a great app and I think I shall use it despite my craze for mac apps, as far as silverlight’s facebook app is concerned, kudos to you on this one microsoft! Some pics to do the talking…

Blues, defined by the legends.

John Mayer has led me not only to enjoy modern blues and rock, not only he inspired me to play better and to sync myself to imitate his playing, he also led me to follow after the greatest blues players in history. There’re many players out there who are great in playing blues, but 2 of the most iconic, phenomenal players that I enjoy are who else? but non other than the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughn (SRV) and the essential B.B King.

Both these players, have revolutionized blues music and become every blues guitarist’s inspiration and influence. Their riffs, their licks, their style and feel are passed down since the day they were playing till now. For Stevie, although he has passed on to a better place, his playing, his spirit lives on in every blues guitarist, and for the king, still rockin his socks and ours off at 84. These 2 players have defined blues music in their way that people everywhere around the world have understood but still not quite understood what their definition of blues is, I for one, will not stop my journey to be a better blues guitarist and aspire to play like these great players. Kudos to you, Stevie, and to you, king.

Gettin myself more involved in the blues. Well I must say I miss both my 1st strat- a highway one with kinman neck and middle pickups and a seymour duncan little 59 bridge pickup, and my taylor 210ce. Both have served me well for 3 years each, and now they’ve gone on to better or worse hands I can only hope. Now, new into the family, I give u- my new strat-

Ash body, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, large 70s headstock, vintage US pickups, gotoh hardware, vintage white, chrome hardwares, nuff said. amazing tone for blues I must say, although the 60s are known for blues, but I like the tone on this axe just right.
